THE MOMENTLOG FIELD GUIDE
How to Find Something You Said in an Old Video Diary
To find a phrase from an old video diary, search MomentLog’s Timeline for a distinctive word you remember saying. Spoken words can be searchable when the entry has a completed transcript. If it has none, narrow the entries by date and replay the likely clips.
Try the word you actually said
Suppose you remember telling someone about a red canoe but cannot remember the day. Start in Timeline and try “canoe” instead of “holiday.” If several entries match, narrow by the dates you were away. Open the likely entry and replay it to hear your exact words.
Check what is available to search
Search can use available entry text, metadata and transcripts from completed analysis. Saving a video does not by itself create a searchable transcript. AI analysis uses the audio and requires sign-in and available allowance. A canoe visible in the frame will not become a spoken keyword just because it appears on screen.
When a keyword gets no matches
Try the place name you might have said instead. If there is no transcript, browse the likely days and replay the entries. For the next recording, say the distinctive detail aloud: “We took the red canoe out on Lake Pine.” That gives you two useful terms to look for later.
