What is MomentLog, and who is it for?
MomentLog is a video journal app for iPhone. Record moments, revisit them in Timeline, and use audio transcription and AI summaries after signing in, subject to your allowance. It suits people who prefer speaking to typing and want to preserve their voice and the context of a moment.
Which device do I need?
The iPhone app supports iOS 16 or later. This guide describes the iPhone journaling experience. Check the App Store compatibility information for your device before downloading.
Can I use it without creating an account?
You can try recording and local playback as a guest. Guests can save up to two videos per week; deleting a saved video does not restore that week’s allowance. AI organization requires sign-in. Saving a recording and analyzing it are separate steps.
What is free, and what requires payment?
You can start recording video journals locally for free. Signed-in free accounts have a limited AI summary allowance; eligible personal paid access provides more AI allowance and personal cloud video features. Check Settings and the in-app purchase screen for plans, local prices, and your current allowance. A free account does not include personal cloud video backup.
Does the AI analyze the pictures in my video?
MomentLog uses audio extracted from your video to produce transcription and summaries. It does not fully interpret silent footage. When filming a scene or an object, say the names, events, and context you want to remember so the text can help you find it later. Check important details against the original recording.
Will every new entry be sent to AI automatically?
Automatic submission depends on the AUTOMATIC AI SUMMARY setting and your available allowance. When enabled, eligible new entries submit audio for AI processing. When disabled, new entries stay in the local recording workflow until you choose AI SUMMARY manually. AI processing requires a network connection.
Where are my videos stored? Does signing in back them up?
Original videos are stored in the local Archive on your device. Personal cloud video requires an eligible paid entitlement and a completed upload for that video. AI text in your account and the original video are separate data: seeing a summary or signing in does not prove the original is backed up. Confirm where important originals are saved before changing devices.
Can I find something I said in an older entry?
Revisit entries by date in Timeline and try searching for keywords. Searchable content depends on the available text, metadata, and transcripts from completed analysis. Use consistent names for recurring topics. AI cannot retrieve a transcript that has not been generated.
Does exporting a video with the HUD replace my original?
No. A HUD export is a separate rendered video with contextual information such as time and location. The local Archive keeps the original. Exporting can help you share or separately save a video; it is distinct from cloud synchronization.
Where can I read about privacy or get help?
The privacy policy explains data collection and processing, and the support page provides contact details. Include your device, system version, steps, and approximate time when reporting an issue. Do not send passwords or unnecessary private footage.
